Karin & Beau’s Irish-Themed Wedding

I was introduced to Karin by one of my former brides, Sarah (thanks again ;D ), and her husband’s- Sky- cousin’s wife/Karin’s daughter, Jamie who was at their wedding. When I met with Karin and first got word of a wedding involving kilts, a candlelit ceremony, a sentimental cigar smoke, and a bar reception I was really excited for what was in store!

The day of the wedding couldn’t have had more perfect weather for a day in March. We started out at the Del Monte Resort and Spa, where Karin was getting all lovlied up- and boy did she look lovely! 🙂 We took some formals in the courtyard of the hotel where I got a bunch of fun shots of the groomsmen sporting their kilts- they even had daggers in their socks! (& Kilt jumping shot- o yea- priceless!) We proceeded to 12 Corners Presbyterian Church where  Karin & Beau had a sweet candlelit ceremony and a few laughs led by Pastor Kevin who such a nice guy and gave an excellent service! The ceremony ended with a the guests ringing bells as the newly married Karin & Beau walked back down the aisle to give good wishes to them. An Irish tradition is to keep the bell in your home and when a disagreement takes place, you ring the bell to end the disagreement and declare a truce without an admission of fault. The guests take home their bell as their wedding favor and can do the same 🙂 We did a few more formals after the ceremony and it was off to the reception at Mcelroy’s Irish Pub where the fun began! We got some shots atop the balcony, which was followed by Karin & Beau’s first dance. The amazingly delicious food was served- shepherd’s pie, baked beans and sausage were among the foodies. The cake cutting scenario was just hilarious, which was followed by some shots with beer- bar wedding- gatta have that! The night ended with a family cigar smoke outside. Karin had a cigar that her father had given when she was born- she saved it for some time now and brought it out to smoke with family. It had been sealed in glass and her father was the last one to touch it- which made it all the more special. On top of that, this made for some AWESOME shots- such a great way to end the night.

Congratulations again and thank you Karin and Beau for having my husband and I share in your special day- we really enjoyed capturing each moment and hope you enjoy the photos as much as we do!
